How we measure visits without tracking you.

Last updated: October 2026

This page describes how we measure visits to MallorcaHub detail pages (currently beaches). Other parts of the site, such as the contact form, contributions or eSIM purchases, are covered by the information shown where they are used.

What we measure

We count how many times each detail page (for example, a beach page) is visited. We only record which page was visited and on which day, without keeping a browsing history.

No cookies or local storage

This measurement uses no cookies, no localStorage, no sessionStorage and no other data stored on your device.

Anonymous identifier that rotates daily

To avoid counting the same person several times in a day, our server computes an anonymous identifier (a hash) from technical request data and a secret value that changes every day. We do not store or log your IP address: it is used only in memory to compute that hash. The next day the identifier is different, so a person cannot be followed from one day to the next.

If you are signed in, we use your user ID instead of the anonymous one, only to tell logged-in visits apart in the statistics. It is never shown publicly.

Purpose and legal basis

Purpose: aggregated statistics about which content is most popular, to improve the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), with minimal impact on your privacy for the reasons above.

Retention

Duplicate-control records are deleted automatically after 2 days. Only aggregated totals per page and day are kept, which do not identify anyone.

Your rights and contact

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection by writing to us from the contact page.
